Name: Strengthen Namibia’s ATVET providers in support of the national agricultural sector by introducing two additional agricultural qualifications
Subject: Aligned with national and EU priorities, the project will introduce two registered qualifications: the National Vocational Certificate in Agriculture (L4) and the National Vocational Diploma in Farm Management (L5). The two qualifications are not yet offered by any Namibian institution. The project activities and outputs are structured in 9 work packages: WP1 - Project management and coordination; WP2 - Situation assessment; WP3 - Develop complete training package for L4; WP4 - Build capacity of ATVET resource people to facilitate L4; WP5 - Pilot the L4 training; WP6 - Develop complete training package for L5; WP7 - Capacity building of ATVET resource people to facilitate L5; WP8 - Pilot the L5 training; and WP9 - Disseminate developed training packages and share best practices and lessons learned. The project’s overall objective is to contribute to sustainable socioeconomic development among youth in Namibia. Specifically, the project will contribute to improve the quality of the Namibian ATVET programs and ATVET services providing and access to local markets. Direct beneficiaries: 6 teachers, 2 staff, and 22 students (50% women) at the consortium TVET provider; 20 teachers and staff, and 80 students from 5 ATVET providers external to the consortium; 11 private sector/industry stakeholders. Indirect beneficiaries: future students of the L4 and L5 in Namibia. The project is aligned with the call’s objectives as it will: Build capacity of VET providers; Improve the quality and responsiveness of VET; and Align VET provision to local, regional and national development strategies The project consortium is managed by Fundación Pueblo para Pueblo and also includes Development Aid from People to People Namibia, Global Apprenticeship Network Namibia, Namibian University of Science and Technology – Department of TVET, Deutsches Institut Fur Tropische und Subtropische Landwirtschaft GMBH and Nevşehir Haci Bektaş Veli Üniversitesi.
